Mastercard Corporation (NYSE: MA) has joined forces with fintech innovator ChangeUp, Inc. to launch MASTERCARD DONATE, a mobile application that empowers cardholders to donate to charity. At launch, the app will feature twenty US based charities including longtime Mastercard partners Stand Up To Cancer, World Vision, Amnesty International and National Urban League.
“Mastercard Donate is one of many new ways that Mastercard is using the power of its platform to affect positive change in the world,” says Mastercard CMO Raja Rajamannar. “The year 2020 has seen an unprecedented surge in donations due to both the pandemic and the racial justice movement and Mastercard cardholders are now equipped with many ways to make a meaningful difference.”
ChangeUp CEO Robert Soderstrom adds, “It’s our honor to work with Mastercard to share our technology to make the world a better place through micro-donations. We are excited to feature even more charities that are global, national and local too.”
The Mastercard Donate app is available immediately in both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store and features one-time donations, recurring monthly donations and donations via round-up of spare change. The app features Mastercard’s “Priceless Planet” coalition and more charities will be added in the coming months.
